Good question. If I had to guess, it was probably our local King Soopers. Might have even been Walmart. I don?t really know.
Quincy Costco has ground beef for $3.50/lb for 88% I think. Organic ground (90%?) for $5/lb. Not a ton, but not sold out either. Steak prices were up a bit, but a decent selection. Tons of pork products.
It’s time to grind dog food again. I usually use about 120lbs of meat, mostly chicken, but also some beef, some organ meats, etc. Are most places imposing quantity limits?
Haven't seen any shortages at the King Soopers down the road from me other than if you go in the evening they may be out of a few things, the next they are usually restocked. They even carry and are stocked pretty well on ground bison and ground elk. Been buying tenderloins for dinner on the weekends without issue.
Costco is currently limiting beef, chicken and poultry to 3 total items per member in the Littleton area.
It's getting that time for grinding cat food, too. I've been stashing and stocking up as much as I can; I can grind a double batch and make room in the freezer. Were I you, I would call some of the local ranchers and see if they would sell you some organ meats, and then hit Shamrock foods.
I hate to put my secret out there but ground turkey is always available at WM for $3 - $3.50 a pound. It eats the same as beef the way I use it.
