Ouch, Kev!

I made my bones in the Infantry, mechanized and light (I got the knee issues to prove it)! I made E-5 on active duty, then E-6 in the reserves and E-7 in the Guard. I was in the 91st Training Division in the reserves as an Opfor NCO, but that was pre-9/11 and none of the units wanted any opposing forces added to their training, so I ran TOC Ops all the time. Pretty boring stuff, so I got out. I heard from a 'friend' who saw the MP unit was on the list for deployment, so I re-enlisted 8 years later to deploy. [Marin1[[MP]

Active USMC.....85-89.
Active reserve 89-91.
Active navy reserve 91-93.

Semper Fi.....!!

None of ya'll will guess what branch I was in.

By the chance of luck all of us med board guys were transferred, I ended up in a co-Ed unit. Kinda gay, but most people made more sense.

It has been difficult to deal with, frankly. Lot of the commraderie stuff we used to do can't be done now; promotion hazing, jokes, team building, etc. We have to make allowances and time for hygiene materials, time, equipment, etc., that I wouldn't have had to in the past.

There are a few of the females who work their asses off that I don't have a problem with, but there are a lot who want to get by with their looks and you have to be VERY careful about fraternization, especially at my rank, as they are looking for something to leverage against you later in time. Overseas, you have to look out for the females as most of the guys want in their pants and for the younger females, they couldn't seem to grasp that all the guys didn't love them, want relationships with them and only wanted to screw them. They got a lot of attention and I needed to keep on them all the time about proper wear of the uniform, proper behavior, proper everything.

There are a lot of lesbians in the MP's. Not sure why. I've been told that they believe the MP's are the closest they can get to 11B.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell was a big deal due to the amount of lesbians. Now, they can go to the Dining Ins and Dinging Outs with their girlfriends and not be kicked out. I'm very old school and that bothers me...

So, to sum it up...I wish I had the body of a 20 year old so I could stay in the Infantry. Much easier.
