When I was a kid I learned young how to handle firearms, teaching my kids the same. My 3 & 4 year old girls handle guns better than alot of adults. My 10 year old I would not trust wit a bb gun. Also I do not have a coat check,[Beer]

A lot of it has to do with suicide scares.
My dad is the state Chaplain for the National Guard, and man, it's at least one death notification a month for suicide with a gun, sometimes up to 3.
NOT saying I agree with the policy of any branch of the armed forces to ask about your personal weapons, but this area of the Rocky Mountains has the highest suicide rate in the military out of any other zone.
However, a large amount of suicides don't involve any type of firearm, but I'm not going to get into that.
I passed by this post numerous times without opening it up. I wish I hadn't because now I am pissed off. This is ridiculous whether the Dear Amy column is being pc or not. I would respond exactly the same way the guy in the article did, if I can't bring my gun then my family won't be coming.
