The dog would not have left him there.
exactly! my pittie crapped out on me last winter when i got stuck about 5 miles from home we were about a mile away in waist deep snow and he got carried/dragged the rest of the way i would never abandon my lil man if i couldnt have carried him any further well then i guess we would have set up camp for the night
My wife was telling me about someone she knows that has a blind dog that developed a sore that wouldn't heal. Took it to the vet, and the poor dog has at least a dozen pellets in its body from some damn neighbor kid shooting it with a pellet gun. Poor, blind, defenseless dog that can't leave its yard or get away from the shooter, and had no clue what was happening to it. Some people just suck.
Douchebag took a plea deal. The abuse charges will be reduced to an ordinance violation. The dog is going to one of the rescuers.

Good then, the most important ruling happened. New home for Missy. We've been following this over on my forum too.
Ok rant on. Look if a team member is imobile somtimes you have to get help and leave them. It sucks but it happens. He doesnt go back up bierstat? seriously. its a freakin anthill. He doesnt call search and rescue? Their station is less than a hour away they run up bierstat on their lunch hour. Anthony your a pussy, and a poor excuse of a piece of shit. look at her shes beautiful and she loved you and you left her and didnt go back? unfreakinbelievable.
The only positive twist that i can put on this is that awareness will grow that when hiking with dogs they are totally dependant on you. 14rs are not like a walk in a dog park the rocks are hard on ther paws. You have to prepare for their needs ,be prepared if somthing happens and pay attention to their condition. If the dog is not up to it you might have to change your plans. Dogs are flesh and bones not iron. I know I spent the whole glorious summer in the boonies with my pup.
