I'm with ya Sniper7, McCain all the way. I just hope we get a good VP in there.

I agree with Clinton/Obama statements but did Alzheimers make Mccain forget about his Americanism/Patriotism or what he fought for?
I guess we can hope for a "Hey look I’m not a tard!" out of his VP eh? LoL
Nope not voting for a scumbag, at least not if I know he's a scumbag. I don’t care how much good you've done in the past, if your crap now nothing can change that unless you stop being crap.
Some of the most interesting things about mccain concerning gun views. http://www.issues2000.org/2008/John_...un_Control.htm
"I don't own one now." - Gotta love how he plays his Vietnam card before he says that, great tactic politically, but isn't that card getting warn our or perhaps a bit too greasy yet?
"McCain favors outlawing cheaply made handguns called Saturday night specials" - I guess poor people don’t deserve to defend themselves? Perhaps the gubberment will pay people the difference between costs for a cheap firearm and a spiffy one?
"McCain said he was open to voting for an assault weapon ban, depending on the details." - Oooo ebil guns!
"We need to focus on halting the spread of violent crime and punishing violent criminals who abuse their Second Amendment rights, while preserving those same rights for law-abiding Americans" - OOO great a law that will help put police, border patrol and FBI in jail if they make a mistake while on duty! Sounds smart!
Bottom line is this guy is as scummy as a politician can get, and no matter how much he plays his Vietnam card it won’t cover all that grease. Any one of those points above would be enough to get a no vote from me. We don’t need more scum like him nor do we need more scum from the republican party.
Stop settling for less, go for the best.
so i gather the bottom line is
you're not voting for McCain. what do you plan to do regarding your local electors?
i'm sure there is some vague statement they made, that will have you not voting for them as well.
but you have to take the lesser of all the evils, just look at where these people are coming from (power wise).
I know what mccains background is and his previous voting. At least he is from AZ where they have some pretty good gun laws.
Obama is from Illinois....one of the worst gun law states. Do you want to have to own an ID card to go to wal-mart to buy ammo?
Hitlery is from NY...nuff said.
I know McCain has said some stupid **** about our gun laws, and unfortunately so has everyone one else. But we know for fact that hillary and obama and surely to go for our guns where McCain is much less likely and more easily pursuaded by the true repubs that will tell him that is a bad idea.
At best we could hope for a all out pro-gun VP that will advise McCain not to do anything rash about our guns.
In the end, the Heller case will have the potential to have a huge impact on the future of what we can and can't own, no matter who is in office.
Voting independant is a wasted vote. sure, you get to say right now that you are ****ed at all the scumbags running around kissing everyones *** looking for a vote. but in the end, do you remember what percentage the independants got last election, or the one before that? nope...you remember who won and who lost. if you are good you might remember who were the top 4 candidates during the primaries.
So I ask you to think in that sense about your vote. Either you go with a partial scumbag who has done the country some good, or you go with the either of the gun-grabbers in all their racial or feminist glory saying they are the "change", or you go for an independant who is there to put some ideas on the tables and accept the votes of those too ****ed off at the scumbags. In the end, all politicians suck, but we have limited choices.
Some of the local R guys in Arizona are ok, and they will get my vote, and some of them are complete scum in which case my vote will be going to I.
And i disagree with the lesser of two evils statement, because that’s why our country is going down the tubes.
We as a nation have accepted the lesser of two evils for a LONG time, too long and what has that given us? Has that been successful in bringing our nations back to its old glory? Or has it continued us down the path of self destruction?
In all honesty sure, voting I may not change things over night towards the way I want it, but I can no longer consciously approve the destruction of my country by voting for those who continue to do so. And a vote for someone is a vote for someone, not a vote against anyone else, that is the wrong mindset, it is flawed logic.
Voting along party lines does not help it only delays the inevitable, I'd rather have the inevitable now, so that I can deal with it as I see fit rather than be too old to deal with it when it comes around, and shove it off on my kids. At that point I would feel that I had failed as an free thinking American and human at that.
How would you feel as an old geezer sitting in a retirement home, watching news seeing Nazi's having taken over, and knowing that YOUR CHILDREN have to deal with the issue?
Liberals throw what you got at US! WE CAN DEAL WITH IT! JUST DO IT NOW, DONT LET IT KILL US SLOWLEY. LET THEM HAVE WHAT THEY WANT SO WE CAN FIGHT THEM! Nothing hurts more than truly loosing RIGHTS that you are used to.
+1 for what foxtrot said.
It is better to punish those who are criminals than to punish everyone.
I agree with punishing those that break the law, but in some instances if you are carrying a gun and break a law while doing so they could technically throw you in jail just for that and tack on an extra 10 years. Like they did with border patrol agents, but could you immagine if you were caught speeding and than thrown in jail for 10 years because you had your CCW on you?
Anyways I see where you guys are coming from I really do... I used to have your exact same viewpoint a few years ago. But really i havent seen stuff improve... when your liberal party is ultra liberal and your conservative party is very moderate you know stuff is going in the wrong direction... I guess I'm just very frustrated to say the least and I dont want to see them taking our rights away bit by bit and than us ending up with none and thinking thats normal... because it seems like americans dont mind as long as they only take away small things... Who determines whats small?
Put your political view point in a real life situation. You have cancer(liberalism). You can take the treatment (vote for the lessor of 2 evils) and live a few years longer (keep some of your rights longer). Or you can not help yourself (vote "I") because you'll feel better until you die faster.
Very interesting analogy, and definatly some food for thought... i personally dont know whether i'd rather have a few more years and than end up dieng miserably, or die within a few months but do so with relativley no pain and very fast...
Sure extra years are great and let you tie up some loose ends... but is the sufferring worth it?
It's definatly all food for thought, and I personally am a pesimist when it comes to the current state of the USA, but I strongly believe that we as a people can change it. All we need is some motivation to get off our lazy lard asses :) So perhaps i'm a pessimistic optimist :p
I guess the real question is how long do we as a people have before our rights go away with plan A and whats the chance of us winning through plan B?
See cause i actually see a slim chance that we can pull out of this with a victory... and that slim chance is going with the fastest most radical decline, because it will wake americans up. Sure its a slim chance, but isnt that better than no chance?
