Because I like getting incessantly spammed with pleas for money and renewal junk mail when I'm already paid up for the next three years.

Yeah...it's terribly hard to login to the member section of the website and change your email preferences.
I get at least one email a week from them. Geez...then I have to select it and hit the delete button if I don't wanna read it. For cryin' out load it takes me almost 3 seconds to do that. If I get an extra email that's almost 15 seconds per month and maybe 3 or 4 mins per year JUST DELETING NRA EMAILS. It's like it's a nonstop thing. [/sarcasm]
Not meaning to be a jerk...well, maybe a little...but where do you think they get their funds? I've heard this reasoning for years and it really gets under my skin. Is putting up with a few spam emails too much to ask when we're talking about saving our 2A rights?
And before someone says it... NO! Your membership dues DO NOT pay for lobbying in congress and in state capitals. The NRA/ILA is where you need to send your money to help with political fights.
Congrats, Alex. Kudos to Jim.
NRA ought to be able to figure out how to reduce mailing costs through pruning their existing member database and make the money I've sent go a lot further. For the record, I do contribute to the NRA, NRA-ILA outside the membership dues - mostly just to get the cool swag [/sarcasm].
Because I may not agree with them 100% of the time and I may think that their leader is more of a clown than a good spokesman, but in the end, they are fighting for my rights...that is why I joined yesterday.
Well I filled out the form, gave him my cash. He did not have enough change to give back so I told him to keep the difference as a donation. I got a hat, the American Rifle Man magazine subscription and a pretty white plastic bag. (not sure if I should have gotten that magazine, I forgot my roommate another gun toting what you would call liberal gets that mag already.) I will take a picture of it all in second (sans personal info).
Home foreclosed and moving this week, no $$, an had to chose RMGO renewal over NRA membership to aid the local fight.
