Before I added texting to my account (I had actually specifically instructed Verizon to BLOCK texting on all phones on my account), my son and daughter had both been texting with their phones. Verizon tried to charge me for all of the texts on a per-text basis. When I screamed foul - remindin them of the two times (had dates/times) I had instructed them to BLOCK texting, they removed the charges.
Of course, neither kid had tried to text to a fee based number (thank heaven!).
