There is no American culture. The American landscape is as diverse as the French Foreign Legion, if not more. We have a conglomerate of micro-cultures, from sea to shining sea. When I was in the Army I had nothing in common with someone from south Boston except we were both American citizens and both wore the same uniform. Then again, past generations and immigrants had something, generally, to contribute. I'm not sure that the Middle East has anything to contribute besides test subjects for new war tech.
