2400 for 357 Magnum, all bullet weights, Unique is nice too
I got everything set up and rolled my first 20 rounds of 40 S&W tonight. We will see how they shoot tomorrow!
Continued the search for the OAL that will reliably feed bayou bullet 200 RN 45 through my Glock 30s. The search continues...although I'm beginning to question my extractor as well.
Win231/HP-38 is a great all-around powder for plinking velocities, as is Bullseye and Titegroup (they're all fast powders, so not best for high velocity loads). Unique is great for mid-range loads and higher, WSF is as well.
The new Alliant BE-86 powder is excellent for all those calibers! So are Ramshot powders: Silhouette and Zip.
Processed a couple thousand 223 cases for a friend. Deprime, FL resize and remove primer crimp. Gotta love the Dillon 1050.
All my shot 45 brass is cleaned and ready for reloading. After that I will start to work up loads for my new LaRue 308 with Ramshot TAC. Would also love to have a dillon 1050....some day when I have more room.
Ah, yes, I wish available room was what was keeping me from buying a 1050!
Alrighty, I get to post in this tread finally. Got, new to me, 1050 swapped over to 9mm and loaded my first few bullets!
Of course big thanks goes to da man, Hoser!
More to come....

Had some time off this afternoon and tumbled some rifle brass and then broke out the Whidden Bullet Pointing Die. Pointed up 500 Sierra 80gn Matchkings. 500 down, 1,500 to go.
Ran out of steam and decided against loading some 223 Ackley.
Nothing waiting on my order from extreme bullets!
Hose do you get significant enough difference with the tipping die? I've thought of getting one. Do you trim the metplat first?
loaded up 100 hog destroyers for the LaRue. 168gr AMAX going a whopping 2430fps from the little 16" barrel. Why so slow? I want to dump all the energy into the piggie. that drops over 1500 ft/lbs of energy until about 220yds.
a buddy of mine just bought 30 more acres that he's requested help in getting the swine population out of there. Saturday is going to be awesome!!
I'm interested in hearing how the amax performs at slower speeds. I've seen a 168 come completely apart in the 2,700fps range on a deer. While it's easy to follow an organ trail, it's a target bullet with a thin jacket. They used to list it in their reloading manual as a hunting bullet, but now they don't. I know a few people that swear by them. I have no doubt it will kill piggies. Might hold together better at 2,400 fps. Let us know!
750 rounds or .45 put up for some shooting as it warms up. Still have 200+ pieces of brass to load up maybe tomorrow.
Finished my first pound of AA#5 with .40 S&W. By my calculations, I got approx. 1,037 rounds. Now I've got 2 lbs of AA#7 and 2 lbs of Titegroup. Think I'll work up loads for 9mm with the AA#7, and use the Titegroup for the. 40.
i got 2k of the 175 SMK waiting on the porch when i got home yesterday.
so... i spent a little time randomly weighing and measuring just to see what a small sample of them would do. Turns out that there are a couple boxes in there that might need to go back. OAL all over the place, and base-to-ogive (of just the bullet) measurements varying as much as 0.010".... Meh, on 2nd thought, I might just keep them for the training rounds.
It's all part of the plan.....
Prossesed 140 rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor Hornady brass for my new gun. Once it comes back from the smith, I can measure the OAL and start ladder testing with 142 SMKs, 139 Scenars and 140 Beger Hybrids (thanks XC700116)!
Also started to prosses about 500 rounds of .223. Not a lot I know, but it sure takes awhile on a single stage press.
Working up some 223 loads today. Going to do some more 223 sub's using TG, BECAUSE another member want's to try them out. Might sort the brass we shot while on vacation.
Does anyone trim the metplat and not repoint just to get consistent tips ? Or is this a dumb idea?
A lot of people do, I personally don't because I'm lazy, and while I want to start pointing, I don't want to spend the money on the dies and trimmers. It's actually pretty low ROI.
But if you're right up against the COAL on your magazines, sometimes a little meplat trim will do wonders for consistent feeding.
It is a good idea to trim them all the same length and then point them. But that takes too much damn time. Pointing is as far as I am willing to go.
Best time spent at the bench for long range ammo is measuring bearing area. If you arent shooting a lot past 600 a lot, just concentrate on learning how to read the wind.
Loaded 100 rounds of 9mm on the 650. Didn't do any speed records, probably took a half hour, but that counts setting up powder charge and seat depth/crimp. Only lost two tips to poor bullet feeding on my part. Not having to manually add cases is awesome.
Built a reloading bench in the new house. After nearly 8 months with all my reloading stuff in boxes, I can finally start to roll my own again.

Fancy bench.
Nice lid for the tumbler.... really. I will have to resort to that some day.
And 8 months? I don't know if I could do it...
Gonna anneal a hundred or so .223 brass; then later head to the range & hopefully nail-down a couple loads in 6x45 & .223 Rem. Had to toss my chrono data from the last range trip due to inconsistent numbers, forgot to take a new battery.
Finished reloading all my .45 brass so I can shoot for a good time.
Got a torch and will anneal some .308 brass, resize and trim those cases and begin to load up some different powder charges for my LaRue. I just began setting up the Dillon for this and will work on it as I have time.
loaded a 223 Rem ladder with HDY 75gr HPBT; have 7 loads to shoot this morning, 2 @ 300 yds
I loaded up 50 more rounds of .260 Remington. Now that I've FINALLY found a load that the gun likes at 100, it's time to see what it'll do at 200-500. It's fun to make targets for that range. I've never shot at paper that far away, only at steel. It'll probably be a very fun-to-shoot-yet-frustrating-to-see event.
Went through / tore down a 450, it needed it. Next time rule #1, have someone (who knows said product) look at something you're buying if unable to yourself . Lot's of elbow grease, inspection of parts, etc. Now it's almost brand new.
