Like you wouldn't have snagged it anyway, at that price...[emoji33]

Not to complicate things, but are you using a chrono? I've often found the load that gives you the best 100 and 200 yard groups doesn't necessarily have the best extreme spread or tightest standard deviation numbers. When that's the case, the pretty groups at 100 yards turn into a lot of vertical spread at longer distances. If the intent is a long range load, I'll take more consistent speeds every time.
Sorry if this is remedial, I don't know how much you've done this. Take good notes and go have a blast.
I use a magnetospeed on the barrel and a Chrony at 10 yards. Then I write the data down for each and compare and contrast afterwards.
I'm completely tracking what you're saying about consistency with shot-to-shot velocity, especially as it applies to the far targets. I only PLAN on shooting this gun to 900-1000 or so, so every little bit helps. My biggest constraint is actually the OAL of the mag (It's an LMT MWS, so it takes PMAGs).
Ah.
Yeah, it's nice to get right up next to the lands, but unless you're using a secant ogive bullet, it won't matter that much.
It's a good day. After setting the bench up in the new house last week, I finally found the majority of my .260 brass. Turns out it's sized, primed and the necks are all prepped.
A good day indeed.
I always love coming across a bag of ready to go brass I forgot I had...
Headed down right now to run a couple hundred .357sig. Forgot how much I love to shoot that....
Tumbled at least a couple hundred .223/5.56 cases and sorted out the LC headstamps. Now I have to actually de-prime and continue prep on them. I have a huge pile of the stuff now, so at some point, I'm going to have to actually prime and maybe even put some powder and bullets into these cases. They aren't any good to shoot until that happens, right?
Processed about 100 pcs of 30-30 and Bn coated 2,000 Sierra 55 Blitzkings.
Figured out that in order for 124gr flat point 9mm rounds to pass the plunk test, I have to load them to 1.069 OAL, which is a far cry from the 1.163 max. Little nervous about that, but I looked it up and other people have come to the same conclusion. This is for my CZ 75B.
Also, I totally stole another member's decorating idea.

Could not sleep well after 3:00 or so this morning.
Loaded up 350 rounds of 338 Lapua with Berger 300s and Retumbo and a bunch of 6 Grendel.
Headed to the range. Going to verify zeros out past a grand.
Loaded up the rest of my 5.56 brass and enjoyed my new garage speakers.
I was setting up for some .223 rounds using mixed brass and 53gr Amax. after setting the bullet seating die, I went to pull the bullet from the case, and it took about 25 serious whacks with the inertial puller. That is a first. The brass was Radway Green (L17A2), and it took a bit more effort to size it also. What has been your experience with this brass, anyone? That was some serious neck tension! It still dropped right into the case gauge.
Sorted 500 Berger 105 hybrids by bearing surface length, get to do another 500 next Friday night at some point. Big fun :twitch
Trimming 308 and watching the game.
loaded up some test loads now that I've found a mag that allows me to load out past 2.810".
I've got 2.850-ish" to play with. this should allow for the scenars to be loaded away from the lands correctly.
Thank kazoo. I only had about 80 left. My fingers hurt
Found 4 lbs of W231 at Tanner yesterday; already had 3 lbs of assorted lot #s ; mixed everything together.
Thanks for the info. I also found some Turkish stuff (IK headstamp), also weird brass. The primers were flattened in them. I just chucked it into the recycle brass bucket.
For some reason I get really excited when I come across a headstamp I don't recognize. Thrill of the hunt maybe. I also found some Yugo stuff and one Perfecta, turned out to be Fiocchi.
it's called organized clutter. You should stop by and see it now. Have a PACT powder dispenser unit , 450 & rcbs Junior set up on the one bench. Big John found maybe 50 rod of loose misc ammo, while helping move a table [LOL] It needs to look busy for a few potential buyers of the property / home.
A clean, organized reloading bench is a sign of someone that doesn't reload much...
[blaster]
In your case, it's representative of a sick, sick mind.
Helps you don't cast boolits on that bench.
my reloading room is collecting dust. I haven't pulled a trigger in at least 2 months. I will fix that on Thursday. Steel in pueblo with 44 mag and then a some speed training with my 1911. I can't wait. I hate clean guns and that is what I have right now. Well relatively
What choo doin' Thursday, Hoser?
