Hey BC, sorry about your ammo and trigger and fire woes. Hope things get better for you soon!
I went on an excursion today. The HB family hiked the "Horsethief Falls" trail between Divide and Cripple Creek. Lots of snow on the trail made it a pretty hard hike and HB Jr ran out of patience after about 3 hours, so we had to book it back down to the trailhead to make him happy again. Took a few pictures, but nothing super exciting.
Thanks HB, it's bound to happen sooner or later to all of us. If nothing else, I'm learning a ton of new ways to look for over pressure in my reloads, but this is just baffling me.
I mean, we've determined that 42.8gr was over pressure, hence the blown out primer, stuck bolt, etc. But, what is the cause for the loose primer on the 38.0gr load for the 2nd round of loads. There's no way that was over pressure, especially since the bolt didn't stick.
I'm seriously about ready to buy some brand new Lapua brass, sell this LC LR brass that I have, and rule out loose primer pockets as a possible cause. If my LGS has any primers/powder, I may try a different combo but 4064 is not a rare powder to use for 308, so I can't imagine that is the problem either.
Yo, Fellers.
Sorry to hear about your dilemma BC. Confusing situation to have to figure out, for sure.
No problems with equipment at the range for the kid and I today, just some problems behind the trigger for me. I completely sucked with both the glocks, and open sight with the AR was marginal. The highlight for me today was getting the Mini 14 sighted in at 100.
Had great weather though.
Thanks obc, confusing indeed. Glad you and the kid had a good day at the range!
Someday I'll have a really nice AR... But I need to buy more boolits first! :)
Heya BC and HB !!
Yeah, it was a good time today, I just didn't have it with the pistols for some reason. First time out with the glock since the training a month ago.
Hey OBC, that can be really frustrating for sure. I've definitely had those days
One of the nice views from today's hike:

Those are the Sangre De Cristo Mountains in the distance.
I was gonna mention it was cool that you took the family hike today, attempt anyways. Nice pic.
