I dropped a pretty good downpayment on it.

Maybe this should go in the "Some people can't park" thread, but the middle of the road is not a good parking place:

My dad was in the turn lane this morning to turn left into the gas station when he was hit from behind by a drunk driver (at 9am) going approx. 50 mph. This pushed him into oncoming traffic where he was hit head-on by another car traveling about 40 mph. He walked away, but the drunk driver and the older gentleman who he hit head-on both left the scene in ambulances. It seems that I should start driving around with bubble wrap in my trunk.
His words: "I am very thankful to be totally unharmed after a driver (she was hauled away for test) drove into me and pushed me into oncomming traffic this morning. I attribute it to a great automobile design, that I am in fairly good physical condition, and being looked out for. I walked away from this 6 car event while two others did not. Please pray for them. 4 airbags in total deployed, front, left side door panel, right side seat, rear from behind me someplace. I was completely surrounded by air bags through all impacts. All in all, I'm really impressed with the engineering of the car. Estimated speed of the person hitting me from behind was about 50mph. I was at a complete stop in line to turn, that pushed me into oncomming traffic. The offending car then traveled and hit two trucks getting gas at the Speedway. The person I hit head on was an elderly gentleman. Took him to the hospital and I don't know his condition. The woman who hit me was also taken to the hospital, to patch-up her head and give her a blood test. I am car shopping."
Dad said that the older gentleman looked quite frail and shaky and probably needs some extra prayers. The drunk that hit him probably needs some spiritual guidance too... she was 28 years old and so drunk that 15 minutes after the accident, her car still reeked of alcohol. At 9am. Anyone driving drunk at 9am probably needs a whole different type of help.
Dang HB, looks like a horrible collision! Glad your Dad walked away unharmed from it!
Wow HB, glad your dad walked away. Nasty crash.
Lobbed from my electronic ball and chain.
I'm mostly worried about the potential for back injuries.
Yea yea yea, I know. But Brownell's doesn't sell MidwayUSA products. And I wanted that shooting mat because of the price and also the bipod webbing. Most of the other shooting mats I've seen start at $100. A yoga mat works, but its hard to preload the bipod on it.
Howdy fellers. I'm damn glad it's the weekend.
HB, I'm sure glad you're dad walked away from his accident today...that's a good thing.
Hiya Lobo,
I'm keeping it together, hoping for the best. Life sure is a pain in the ass sometimes. lol.
How you doin' brother?
