I just shipped my bed...

Drooling over building a 300aac blackout upper. Drooling even harder at making an AR pistol to throw it on, then SBR'ing it.
Probably something I'll have to wait until after the wedding to be able to afford.
So, Spittoon, I think the only way I qualify for what you sent me would be from my work now... I'm not sure if that is really something I would want to do though...
Nah, already played that card to get into reloading. [LOL]
Besides, with these two knee surgeries coming up, our bank account will be crying afterwards. Luckily workers comp is picking up one of them (yay work injury [hahhah-no]... )
Really wish I hadn't hurt it at all, but since I did, we were able to discover the tumors and thats a good thing.
Yea thanks, its been a total PITA, but the work comp has been relatively hassle free so far, other than having to wait nearly a week after referrals/appts to schedule the next exam. Been waiting since Monday to hear back from the same office regarding scheduling a consult for the surgery and the surgery. This is my last shift at work until 8/30, so it'd be awesome if they could schedule the surgery within that time frame and then get into a few weeks of PT before I have to head back to work. And I haven't taken any time off from work, this is for yearly telescope maintenance, we tear the telescope apart and do preventative maintenance on it every year in July/August for 6-7 weeks.
Had to overnight MRI scans to my doc in CO for the tumors. He's gotta look at them and tell me how bad it really is and how quickly we need to operate. Since the wedding is in October and there is a huge potential for a job change in the next few months, we'll either schedule it ASAP or wait until December/January for that one.
Ah, no I was talking about the other surgery that I'll be paying for out of pocket. One surgery is to repair my meniscus that I tore at work, that is covered by workers comp and they've already approved my claim.
In the MRI to find the meniscus tear, they found tumors growing inside my femur. I had surgery on that in 2006 to remove the tumor and bone graft it. Apparently, they're regrowing and I'll need another surgery to remove them again and do more bone grafting. This surgery is out of my own pocket and the last time, it was about $40k. [Bang]
The tumor removal and bone grafting surgery is not as urgent as the workers comp torn meniscus surgery. The tumors are not as large yet as they were in 2006 when they were eating my femur from the inside out, and my femur walls were only 1-2mm thick (as in, I could have tripped off a curb and shattered my femur).
That really bites. All the best I hope things work out permanently this time

Thanks, me too, but there is always a chance it can come back.
Sucky part is that about 0.14 in 100,000 people get this type of tumor. I tried the lottery back then, didn't win. Had the first MRI a day before my 21st bday, and spent my 21st bday on crutches, heavy pain pills and couldn't even drink.
21 is so overrated. Drank more and enjoyed it more when it wasn't legal... weird.

I hope I'm the next top shot!

Meh, not really. I work 8 nights per month, so I'm home the rest of the time. My Fiancee works 5 days a week and is therefore gone all the time. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with all of the laundry, dishes, cleaning, cooking, etc. But that might change in a few months time when my work schedule could change dramatically as I take on a huge promotion. Talked with the project manager, he said we're still on track and everyone is loving the idea of having me on board. They'll publicize the job postings in the next couple of weeks and then the fun starts.
I talked with my chief engineer about it, (well, old chief engineer) and I'd basically be working directly side by side with him on this project. He said it would officially launch my career and I'd never have to worry about job security due to the scope of the project. Pretty excited, have known about it since May and am just now getting more info.
It's kind of a sure thing, everyone in the project is aware of the project manager wanting to put me in the position and they're all extremely supportive of it. After I throw my name in the hat for the position (which I am the only person uniquely qualified for it, with the experience of the instrument from all aspects of its operations), we have to convince my supervisors LOL. THAT, could be the interesting part!
But thanks! [Beer]
Want to freak yourself out?
Start researching tumors and the chance of malignancy when you have two of them inside your femur. Apparently, what I had in 2006, while benign, could have developed into osteosarcoma (bone cancer). After researching osteosarcoma, I found out that 60% of the cases are located in the distal femur. Guess where my tumors are. The distal femur.
My doc can not get back to me fast enough! I was freaking out in 2006 when my doc told there was a 50% chance he knew what it was, and the chance of it being cancerous was a coin toss. Now that its back again, I'm really freaking out!
Okay, calm down, calm down. Put it out of my mind! [panic]
Last promotion I had was no money, new title, in call 24/7/365 and a shift change. Congrats on having possibility of a promotion!

Haha, yea the chances are extremely slim. Unless its developed in the past year, its benign. Had a blood test a year ago for life insurance and it came back with my white blood cell count within normal.
Anywho, whats everyone up to this weekend? Any fun plans?
i have a small 3 gun match tomorrow in boulder, hope i do a little better than last time.
Hello, bitches.
Took a while to catch up......laughed a few times and paused a few times for those of us dealing with unfortunate situations.
