Actually... I wish I could quit gambling more.... :(
I need 19, you need 5. Damn.
Actually... You both need about 1,000 to catch me....... :D
Goodbye...*sniff*
Humidity has officially hit 100%. If I walk outside, I'll be swimming.
I've not been up to the hill for some time now.
Hey JM, you've been around for a while now, when are ya gonna screw it up again?! [Poke]
Relative humidity seems to be a retarded figure..... it's the dew point that actually matters, right?
I wonder if I can bang out the 60 posts I need for 3,000 tonight...... Probably not, since it's almost lunch time....
BC...that's cold, man.
Funny, but cold.
I drank my N.O. explode.... Now my fave tingles..... [panic]
Curious, but what does one have to do, to get a ban from here?
Hehe, I keeed, I keeeed. It's been nice havin' another ho to mess with!
Pretty much. If the dew point differential is less than 3degC, we can start getting condensation forming on the mirror and thats not good at all. It's currently at 0.0degC. Dew has been forming for hours, but now that its at 0degC, it'll be forming much faster and we're probably sitting in a fog bank too. Happens often, but when it happens the entire work shift, it really sucks.
Funny thing is, its crystal clear skies right now (well it was). No radar returns, almost no cloud coverage (there are clouds but we could see through them with this instrument as its in the IR). Two more hours though!
Hehe, gotta stir the pot every once in a while.
OBC: 2001 Nice!
It would be cool to get the 23456th post.
Pretty much. But, I'm sitting at 9,500 feet and its also the start of the monsoon season, so we've been getting thunderstorms daily now for the past week or two. They'll continue for another few weeks before winter hits.
Agreed. Probably too much of this: [sheepshagger]
Hey!! I made the 2K and blew it posting something stupid.
lol
I think this ought to be the "Post Whore Thread....shady as fuck"
:)
Oh, our telescope sits out on a pier. We pull the building off of it. Heck, let me get a pic...

eta: Thats a really old pic, as it doesn't have the flat field petals, but you get the idea. In short, if we plunge a cold telescope into the warm damp air, we'll get instant condensation no mater how much ventilation we have.
We have HUGE ventilation that sucks air down from the top, through the blue A-frame supports that you see there, and away from the telescope about 50-75ft.
That lower enclosure (box below the observing deck) holds all of the computer racks and generate a lot of heat, so that heat is pulled out as well.
LOL...I added a tag as well.
Looks like you'll need a few extension cords too.
