Well, yesterday loaded up 50 test rounds of .223. Increased the powder by .5 gr every 5th round.

Loaded quite a few 556 with ballistic tip noslers with from 40- 50 grain. Loaded a few hundred, don't laugh that rounds expensive, 380 with Bayou Bullets and Bullseye.
Last 5 years I've had about 1/2 pound of Blue Dot in my reloading room. I never really found a load I liked with it (compared to 2400). Decided I need to use it so I tried to load it up with the new 250 grain rnfp's I'm casting in .44. I got a pretty darn solid blaster load with 14 grains / 1,230 fps from a 4-5/8" Blackhawk a few days ago. Didn't set any records for speed, but I had 4/6 rounds hitting the same hole at 15 yards. With the state of pistol powder, 250 rounds is 250 rounds. Loaded up the rest tonight. We'll see how they do at 100 and 200 yards next week.
Cleaned the place up to get it ready for the new safe tomorrow.
Poured my last 3/4 pound of Unobtanium (aka, Hodgdon Clays) into the hopper of my 550 to load some .45 ACP. Clays is the best 45 ACP fuel I have ever found. Sad day.....
Set up the rl1050. Jamie likes. Now I know how to take it apart and put it back together.
If you're doing it right, you already have outgrown this safe. And now you need one even larger, both in depth, and girth. Don't be dismayed, I've recently re-allocated space in my safes, and can help you with these space considerations.Quote:

Why does RCBS use set screws that don't set, give you an Allen wrench softer than the set screws that do set, and why is my .30 trimmer pilot not fitting in brass that's been sized, deprimed and loads just fine!?

Not sure I can help you with the trimmer pilot without seeing it, but for the RCBS dies, take out the set screw, drop in a piece of lead shot and put the set screw back in. Mashes up nicely, and helps things stay put.Quote:

The Wife bought a used LC9s yesterday at the Gun Show; cranked out the last of the 9mm components so she has something to practice with, 103 rounds was it. Ordered some Hornady HAPs online, now to find some powder.

Use a match. With the torch as you peer in to the canister, one runs the chance of catching their hair on fire. Using a match once lit dropped in to the canister. I know exactly how much powder i Had.Quote:

Seriously, I finally got busy making some 12ga ammo for the upcoming PITA state shoot.
Sorting and tumbling brass this morning from my Montana trip... but tomorrow morning I NEED to do some casting. I have 9 .44 caliber bullets at my house. Nine bullets. Shameful.

Wife took some friends to the range, burned up a bit of ammo, so had to replenish the stockpile.
Loaded up 200 rounds of 230gr 45acp, 300 rounds of 124gr FP 9mm, and prepped cases for 250 223.
Supplies are running low, cracked open my last 1lb bottle of CFE Pistol, and 100 small pistol primers left. I'll pick up some primers locally, but need to hope I can spot some CFE pistol in stock online this week.
