And yes, I have a spreadsheet. It shows me my full inventory (to the nearest 100 bullets), powder/primer/bullet purchase prices and cost per 50 rounds loaded. Makes it incredibly easy to change the powder/primer/bullet price and see what my new cost per 50 is.

Not like I'm one to talk though, I just loaded up my first 5 rounds of 223 ever. Thought I had the crimp die setup properly, but ended up deforming the first bullet. Time to pull it (if possible) and re-use the powder. [facepalm]

And at the rate I'm loading these rounds, it'll take me a good 50 hours or more to get through loading 223 to use up the 1lb of powder I have. And then, I'll still have about 1.5k worth of brass. Need. Moar. POWDER!!

And yes, its a lot more powder than I have for rifle. I have only 1lb because my LGS doesn't have any in stock and haven't been getting shipments. Checking tomorrow for more.

Just finished loading 35 test loads. Ended up ripping my press off the bench while crimping the last 3 rounds. [facepalm]

Luckily, I took Jim's advice and clamped a board ONTO my bench instead of mounting the bench directly into the laminate countertop. Now I'll probably mount the press to a 4x4 with some really long screws.

Sigh. Good thing I got the test loads done though. Have to finish painting a room in our house, then I'll beg my Fiancee to go to the range and test some loads.

Starting to freak out. My reloading manual (and another two manuals that I found online) said to load my 55gr FMJ (223) to a COL of 2.260". So I did that, for all 7 loads and 35 rounds.

Now I'm reading that 55gr bullets should be seated at 2.220". So now I'm debating pulling those bullets and starting over, seating deeper and then testing the loads.

What say you fellow hoes?
