Just read the entire book today.....man was it sad....the entire firefight was hard to read what a terrible situation to be in(terrible dosent sum it up)
does anyone know what happened to the village that protected him?
Big time eye allergies all the way through

I don't know what happened to the village but the man who saved him has been located and they are now friends. Marcus has brought him over to the US twice now just to spend time together. They've truly bonded, as can be expected. 60 minutes did a segment on their friendship recently.

Saw the movie today. Excellent. Now I need to read the book.

Finally saw it tonight. Best movie I've seen in a long time. Now I need to read the book.

Very very well done and I really liked the dedication at the end. Regal Theater at Interquest Parkway kept the lights totally off until the credits were completely done (movie rating came up before the dimmer started raising the light levels). I thanked one of the attendants for the gesture of respect for doing so -- not sure they intended it that way but I wanted them to realize it was perceived as one.

I saw it this morning with my wife. The tribute at the end was awesome. Probably the first movie I have been to at a theater where you never heard a peep out of anyone the whole way through.

I had some goober start talking behind me. I asked him if he could please keep quiet. He did. I asked, but it wasn't really a request.
