The CPS doesn't make the list yet. The issue is a no start after the head gaskets were replaced. If the truck was running before and now after the HG's were changed it won't start then I wouldn't look any further than the HPO system which includes the injectors. Did he plug the wire harness together above the drivers side VC? Is the WTS light on? Does the tach move when he cranks. These are the areas that you can check on the spot.

Scan tool will show unplugged sensors and such really quickly.


Typically it is the first thing I do after a large job. Crank it over and let it run for a short time while pulling codes to see what I forgot to plug in...

Keeping it the way I found it, except for four new tires, rebuilt carburator and possible fuel pump, new fuel tank, and a rear wheel cylinder.

A cam sensor in a 7.3 takes about 5 minutes to replace.
