Just the stupid apps we all load to our phones provide enough data to pretty much build a profile on any of us. Right, I can understand why a flashlight app needs to know my location and all of my contact. [Rant1]
Think of ALL the recent, and some not so recent, attacks. With all the NSA, etc. alphabet agencies, they didn't see any of them coming. AND, everytime, they said "we had them on our radar"...you really think they need to be concerned, or even, AWARE, of little people like "US"? I doubt it. Again and again, they find out, after the fact, that there were entries on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, whatever...and they didn't put 2 and 2 together, let alone one and one! I'm not concerned. As low risk as I am, when they didn't catch any of that chatter, and I'm not even on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, or whatever lame "social outkast" media there is out there, I'm SO not concerned. I'm ex-mil. Top Secret Crypto clearance. FFL, NRA instructor. Dozens of 4473's. Hell, I AM the radar!
Obligatory YMMV.
