Interesting thread. I've sampled a number of single malt scotchs with Glenlivet being the most frequent but lately have enjoyed anejo tequila instead. Don Julio 1942 is a nice one to add to the collection and enjoy.

Late to the party but another enthusiastic vote for the Balvenie DoubleWood and if you have some time to burn check out their site

I'll switch between tequila and scotch. A Don Julio Anejo is every but as tasty as a Balvenie depending on mood.
Mmm, tequila. I'm a big fan of Espolon. Under $30 and exceptionally smooth. Jose Cuervo Traditional (not that Gold stuff) is great for budget tequila.
Anyone tried the Kirkland Scotch from Costco? they have a 16 year old single malt for $90. they have a 24 year old blended, and a 10 or 12 year old Islay.
Their wines are generally rated well.
They also had a bottle of Caol Ila for $119. (and a bottle of "last drop" scotch from 1964 for $3K).
This was at the one costco in littleton that sells booze in-store.
There was an article somewhere I recently read discussing who bottles the Kirkland scotch ... I'm sure it could be googled. Anyway, pretty positive reviews for it.
I've been cycling through various Irish whiskeys lately ... good stuff.
Just had to share, I'm sure its wonderful, but damn...
