We were there the first weekend in October and could literally walk all the way across. Pretty comical trying to get the kayak afloat in 8 inches of water 200 yard from the stairs. It's pretty close tyo the house so it's one of our favorites.

Its the closest place to me as well. Any farther pulling the camper, and I prefer to swap over wheels and tires on the truck because the 22's aren't ideal for dragging that weight.
Sucks that fishing is gonna be pretty terrible for the next few years.
We went at the beginning of August. Had never been there, so scoped it out the week prior. They must have started draining it right after we left, because when we came back to camp, the water was about 20ft lower.
We actually found it looking through YouTube for fishing spots. Actually met the guy who's channel we saw out there.
I think that Pawnee is really beautiful, especially captured at the right times.

These cell phone pictures obviously don't do the moon justice. I wish someone with a real camera was there to capture better shots.

These pictures were taken at the same time, just a matter of turning around 180 degrees. It was very cool to have the moon rising as the sun was setting. Pretty surreal.

Severe thunderstorms in the surrounding area but nothing threatening us at the moment. Had some mammatus clouds overhead and combined with the sunset made for a gorgeous evening. The colors and shapes were changing my the moment.
