I still can amaze my son when we're working on something together and he needs to figure out some mathematically and I have the answer while he reaches for his phone. I bet a lot of my fellow seniors on here can remember memorizing math tables day after day LOL

Yep. Flash cards. Helps develop a sense of numbers.

When I was teaching, it was interesting how many young people didn't have a 'feel' for numbers, fractions, or anything not in decimal format.
Then again, when we went from slide-rules to calculators, I imagine the previous generation thought we were losing some skills.

Can kids read an analog clock these days?

Yep, and I use them every day. Can't say the same for Calculus.

I remember a thread about 5 to 10 years ago about using software (dependent) to sissy fourier.
At least paper saved , but still cannot solve that. :)

Btw. School now is 10x easier than 20+ years ago.
Easier prerequisite. Too much dependent on software.
(We did manual and math software as well for project and hw).[UZI]
I took audited courses for post level several years back to back my statement.
