Presidential debate?

The scary fact is that 30% of the population still thinks Biden is the best choice.

But what should be an eye opener for those sleeping is the fact that the media is pretending that they had no idea Biden was this bad. They seem surprised, which I have a hard time believing is genuine. There is no way that many people in the media are so utterly stupid/blind that they didn't notice until now. They have been actively "debunking" any story that he is a potato. So what changed during the debate? Why are they admitting it now? It should be clear to everyone now that the media is completely full of shit and can't be trusted.

Seems like a game they've been playing since Day One: keep Joe hidden from the public eye, have him leave very brief press conferences without taking any questions, and keep making excuses for him. They could've avoided the debate altogether if they wanted to, and this was a deliberate premeditated choice to put him out there unprepared and unmedicated knowing the world would be shocked by how inarticulate and lost the alleged "leader" of America is.

They intend to replace him with someone other than Kamala Harris, who is even less popular than he is and cannot win even on a "Not Trump" platform.

It will not be Newsome... it'll probably be Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia who is just as bad, and in some ways worse.

Trump may be an egotistical, self-centered, foul-mouth & shrewd businessman, but he is OUR egotistical, self-centered, foul-mouth & shrewd businessman.

If they do that. The D's mantra of inclusivity for all will be flushed down the shitter.

To ignore the first female V.P who is also a person of color, ignoring her ancestors owned slaves. Would not go over well with the already triggered voter base they've been courting forever. Bypass the current V.P and go with a white guy or gal. Yeah that will paly well with their alphabet gender crowd

How would they deal with the democracy thing by arbitrarily placing another candidate on the ballot? Voters in thier primaries voted for Joe, not Kamala or anyone else. What's the point of voting in primaries if they can just appoint any candidate they wish?

This sounds like so much more of an "attack on our democracy" than anything they have accused Trump of. I imagine this bypassing of democracy wouldn't sit well with many independents, or would face many legal challenges to the legitimately of any candidate other than Joe.

Only way to legitimately replace an elected candidate would for that candidate to die.

That may be the democratic party's "Plan B".

There are FEC issues if they replace Biden as the nominee by anyone other than Harris. $240M in campaign money goes to the DNC and they have limited options to disburse that legally.

Biden won't resign prior to his term ending because Speaker Johnson will become VP. The democrat party is in a bit of a pickle right now. But not to worry. I have confidence the R party has a plan up their sleeve to collectively fuck up any advantage these democrat party problems are causing the dems. They're masters at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Whatever the Ds decide to do, they need to do it by Aug 7. That's the deadline for getting a candidate on the ballot in Ohio.

Under normal circumstances I would agree but there is a huge orange issue you are overlooking.

Many, if not most, on the left would gladly pause their handwringing over identity politics to keep "the ultimate threat to our democracy" out of office.

Never underestimate their hatred and fear of Trump. And their desire for the power. Remember "...fundamentally transforming the United States of America"? That has not waned in the least.

The past eight years of constant negative reports on most news outlets has convinced many non-political types that the country may truly be in peril if he is re-elected.

How can that be when the convention is the 19th-22nd?
