As I said before... if you aren't responsible enough to stick to your limits with alcohol in public, then you probably aren't responsible enough to be carrying a gun.

Nobody said they were under the influence. Someone said it was illegal to carry in places where alcohol is served. It is not illegal.
It's also not illegal to consume alcoholic beverages while in possession of a firearm as long as you're not intoxicated.
Yes, there could be an issue with officer discretion and determining "under the influence". No there is no statutory definition. However, 15 years "in the business" I can say most cops will use the same standards they would if you're driving.
I'm more likely to have a beer while carrying (though that means almost never) than to have a beer while riding my motorcycle.
