Oh I fully expect to snag on things
Bringing 2 new shooters for the afternoon match.
Hoser, do you mind if we run with holstered unloaded pistols? (training for 2 gun Desert Brutality)
Not a problem.
Here are the results for the last match of 2021. We had awesome help with set up and excellent weather. Scooter brought out the rifle that TimK just cant beat. Thanks to everyone that makes these matches happen. Justin, Charlene and I couldn't, and wouldn't, do it without you.
The State Championship will again be held in Pueblo. Plan on 25-25 June. 9 stages, approx 300 rounds. It will open up on practiscore 01 January.

It turned out to be a really nice day and a great way to start off the 2022 season.
Please welcome the newest Tactical Rifle Club Staff member, Steve D. Thanks for being willing to help out in an official capacity. We couldnt do it without you.
Huge thanks to everyone that showed up early to help with set up including Paul D. He showed up before 7:00, worked his butt off and didnt even shoot.

We still have room in the 2022 State Tactical Rifle Championship sponsored by Thunderbeast Arms at the end of June. Come on out. https://practiscore.com/colorado-sta...clone/register
See you all next month.
Hey Hoser, already signed up for the 2022 state tactical rifle, out of curiosity is there a caliber requirement ? intended on running it in 556 just curious if there are other options
May is open for signup.
Forgot to mention, both matches are full and there are wait lists going.
Hey Hoser, these matches are in PW? And do you allow spectators that are associated with a shooter? Don't think I'll be competition ready anytime soon. Just want to see how things are ran and what the courses of fire look like.
Oh it's not a nerves thing, it's an equipment thing for now. Not going to sign up for a competition and spend that money when I can't even get the things I need shipped to me on time right now.
Tomorrow is a cancel for snow/rain/mud.
I can take a shower tonight!
This months match is avail to sign up at https://practiscore.com/clubs/hosers-steel
Everything has been filling up fast so dont drag your feet.
Thanks. Enjoyed it
We had a ton of help getting things set up today. Thank you to everyone that came out early to make it happen.
Dont forget that the Sept match is the AK vs AR Team match. That is the ONLY match where steel core ammo is allowed, with one exception. M885A1 is 100% not allowed in any way shape or form.
Next Sunday is our regularly scheduled rimfire matches. Hope to see you there.

Hey Hoser, had a great match today. Thanks for putting it on and nice meeting ya. See you at the team match!
-Matt Troiano
Each team member signs up and then lets staff know who is part of the team. We do the rest of the number crunching work.
One team member must shoot a non-AR type rifle and at least one of the two rifles must have irons or a non magnified dot. Which rifle gets the dot is up to the team.
Morning match full with a wait list.
A little room left in the noon match.
Here are the results from today match.
Not only did we have an awesome set up crew, but we raised a ton of money for Deputy Peerys family. Thank you to everyone that showed up today and put some cash in the bag. It meant something special this time.
Next month is the AR vs AK match. You can also shoot as a team as long as one shooter shoots something that isnt an AR and one of the two rifles has some sort of non magnified optic or irons. We will be giving away plaques to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams.
See you soon and remember to sign up for the matches as soon as they become available this Wednesday night. Unless you like spending time on the waitlist.

Great match today! Looks like one of the newer guys brought 3 new friends too.
Yes I hope so! Talking it over with the lads to see who wants to team up, I might even run an AK.
Wait, what's the reasoning behind not allowing projectiles with a mild steel jacket? We know that magnetic ≠ armor piercing, and that there's a difference between AP and steel jacket, right?
It's very simple to separate steel jacket from old import AP via headstamps.
I ask because this rule severely limits interest in participating, especially in light of covid era ammo prices.
There are 2 reasons actually.
1. Sparking hazard. None of us want to start a fire at the range.
2. Target damage. Yes. Even bi-metal jackets will tear up steel, especially in light of covid era AR-500 target prices.
If you look around, I am not the only club that does not allow ammo that will attract a magnet. And I am one of the very few that allows its use once a year at the AK vs AR match.
Each year I spend about 3-5K on steel targets, and that is with most of the people playing by the rules. A few people dont give a shit and shoot that stuff anyway. Eventually I find out who they are and they get 86ed from the match.
Imagine the time it will take for a Match Director to go through a dozen people's ammo to ensure they aren't shooting bi-metal bullets vs non bimetal steel case. Quite frankly, if you are one that believes this is irrelevant time spent so you can come out and shoot garbage ammo, you are wrong. Almost every minute of my time before a match is already spent setting the match up. The ricochet and fragmenting danger of the bi-metal bullets alone is reason to not allow it. At my match, I have shot steel as close as 50 yds. I know my matches attendance is down now, but I even started a 22LR and PCC divisions and I get only one or two max at a match. It's quite frankly not worth the effort for the extra steel set up time and I'm going to stop having those divisions. There have been ways around the ammo cost instead of allowing annoying destructive and dangerous ammo and nobody is taking the opportunity. So, no steel case at my match. If you do it at my or Hosers match when not allowed, there is consequences.
Good times today. Thanks to everyone that made it happen. And the Air Force Academy Cadet Shooting Team made it out to play with us.
Registration for next months match open up at midnight on 01 October. We will also have rimfire matches on 30 October.

What bolt gun did Hoser use ?
That's a bit of history.
Yup. He was a good man. The 400 yard range in Pueblo is dedicated to him.
