Haven't heard from my buddy yet about Pickle Gultch so I am gonna call him tonight and be like WTF? Hopefully I can get a time posted even though I am pushing it. Also wanted to say real close to the trail head is a nice shooting range.
Ok, here it is at its new home.

I don't drive a Jeep but I do drive this old Land Rover. She's been all over Southern Utah and Colorado.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's a D90?? Friggin' sweet rig[Beer]
Great looking Land Rover! Awesome pictures to boot too.
Doesn't look like Pickle Gultch is happening this Sat guys. I guess that's just how it goes when you have kids huh? Sucks, I really want to get out before winter hits. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.[Rant2]
That D90 is awesome. What kind of mileage do they get? How many miles do you have on that thing?
Yep, super cool D90!
I'm an XJ guy, but I'd rock a D90.
Anybody interested in doing an offroad + shooting trip in the NF before winter comes? I was thinking about camping up on one of the Sawatch passes and shooting at BV.
I would be in depending on when. I work weekends so I'm not sure I'd be able to tag along.
After this weekend the xj should be ready to roll.
I was thinking about the weekend after this upcoming weekend, the 22nd/23rd. I have the gas tank out right now, waiting for this weekend to finish installing a new fuel pump.
I might be able to swing it. I nedd to get the jeep out again this year.
Here is a good pic I took while out muzzleloading this year.

I went up to look at a cabin this weekend and took a few poser shots off of the driveway to the cabin. We need to hit the trail soon glock21!
Ill be ready after the weekend. Let me know and i can take a day off.
Now that is what I am talking about!!
I just bought a jeep last week. Nothing special, but it is going to do what I want it to. Not a huge fan of rock crawling or mudding, I just like back country trails, hunting, camping stuff like that so this will do perfect. I am thinking of putting a 4" lift and 33's on it, but I will wait a while for that.

Biz is slow... That's good, means I get more time for shooting and fishing!!!
Small world it is!
If anyone on here is looking for some basic JK parts I have a few laying around. I have a stock spare tire carrier with all of the wiring, rubber grommets, etc and a stock non-nav head unit. If you are trading your rig in these are great ways to not give up your expensive aftermarket stuff!
If anybody is interested, I'm going to camp up by Taylor Lake next Saturday night. I plan on leaving COS early Saturday and driving over Tincup or Cottonwood pass down to Taylor Park. From there, it's a drive up a rocky stream bed up to Taylor Pass and the lake. If it's not too crowded up there, I hope to set up a few targets and do a little shooting.
This is all weather-dependent, of course.
Potato Salad Hill is so much fun!!
Figured I'd share some pics of my WK2. 2.5" lift on 33" Duratracs

^ Looks solid!
Back story: The guy that owned the jeep before me heard a tapping in the motor. To he got the head rebuilt. The engine still tapped so he bought a new one. When he was putting it in the indexing pin was not aligned and the tab where the starter mounts broke off. So he sold me the whole package. I put the old engine in and tried to get the tapping to stop, but I am pretty sure that it is either a flat spot on the cam, or a ruined lifter. I might rebuild it later, but for the time being I figured that I could fix the new engine and put it in.
Henpecked hooked me up with a good welder here north of Denver that did the welding. Thanks!
Here are the pics.

After the motor got back from the welder the whole thing took two days and a shit ton of permatex, but there is not a drop of any fluid anywhere. And other than a hose clamp malfunction ahem... resulting in an immediate coolant dump all over the garage, the whole thing works flawless. I cant wait to get out and hit some trails here soon, but I will have to break in the motor for another 1000 miles or so before I do too much with it.
Nice work!
Very nice. This is what I call a "green vehicle". Why send a good truck to the junkyard? For a couple of days of work, you have a very nice new motor. Congrats!
