I also changed the gas block on an AR, which means that I now have an extra. Well, not for long, as I've already started building the next AR around it. It's going to be a DPMS-pattern .308. I've never built one, and I'm guessing that i can easily build it for under $2k when I mix the parts that I already have on hand and the parts that I need to order. I know I can get a factory built gun and have it work 100% right from the get go. For me, it's all about getting in there and getting my hands dirty with building one. I'd like to take my time and get it as close to right as possible. I expect the build to be completed before the end of November. I'll start a thread in the AR-10 category so that others can monitor the progress and see what they like/dislike about it, ask questions, etc.
