Damn. For some reason I thought there weren't any competitions close to me and I just put my stupid blinders on.... [facepalm]
I need to look into this. pronto.
Or sooner. Many folks from the board shoot the matches down there.
Am going to Cheyenne this month and hope to catch a couple matches in the Springs in Jan and Feb.
I don't know why I've been holding myself back. I think I would really love it, but I just can't muster up the balls to actually go find out I guess.
Just show up. It's easy.
Irving said it all. Only hard part is just showing up. After the match you will scold your self for stalling.
First match IDPA all you need is pistol, holster(appropriate for CC) and 100 rnds ammo (I bring 100-150 just in case of stage reshoot or really bad accuracy on my part). I have never used more than 105 rnds. Also need cover garment which you will be already wearing (it is winter soon).
As you shoot more matches you will decide if your holster works for your purposes in match and what type mag carriers you like etc.
The millennial generation won't make eye contact. You can totally psyche them out as they walk down the center isle...lol...off we go...later hos
