Fiancee just called and said she definitely wants to take a CCW class, guess she read some news story online about a pregnant lady (or new mom) and wants to carry a gun when we get there. [Awesom]
Excited to sign her up for a class this fall!

You've never heard of a flat sheen? We have textured walls, so the flat sheen hides the texture. While wet, it is very shiny and then dries to the flat sheen.
When we did our front bedroom, it was a dark blue, almost like a midnight. It went on the wall as a turquoise and we freaked out, then after it dried it darkened/dulled up and looks beautiful!
wax....i need to change beers apparently.
great news on the carry stuff bc......maybe that acp is closer than you think now... *sweet*
Haha, she won't be getting that large frame m&p9 (though I keep eyeballing it). Wonder if I could convince her to have it as a bedside gun... 17+1 of 9mm is a good number.
We'll probably end up spending a few hours in the LGS so she can fondle every single pistol they have to find the one that really fits her small hands.
yeti isn't an ipa is it?
i think it would be great if the wif came home one day, and announced to me that she was gonna start carrying.
Its really quite the shock, especially since just about a year ago I was struggling to get her to the shooting range let alone be in the same room as a firearm. I want to get her back to the range again, but the temp gets up to 95*F by 830am and that's just not enough time to be out there. Oh well, at least she WANTS to take the class!
that's great, bc.
it's awesome when a fella can sling some lead around, and be good at it........el primo when your lady can do it as well.
thanks for the info, lobo...:)
my wife was much the same way as bc's...regarding having "weapons in the same room"...for a long time. even though she used to hunt, years ago. it took a bit of conversation to allow a shotgun next to the bed...and to get her to be familiar with it and the safety...etc.
Haha, yea we were doing a semi-gloss (eggshell) paint for our other rooms, but it was just too shiny. Looked into it more, and you use a flat sheen to hide imperfections on the wall. The shinier the paint, the easier to clean and wipe down, BUT it also shows imperfections in the texture/wall-straightness/etc much more. So we switched to flat and it looks so much nicer!
We have read though that you want semi-gloss or shinier in the kitchen and bathrooms, but everywhere else you can use flat. It really adds some elegance to the walls! Like, right now I'm looking across my living room about 15ft at the new paint, and it is so dull I can't even tell that the wall is textured. But next to it where the old paint is still showing, I can tell its textured and it looks pretty uneven and bad.
WTF? ............I need to get out of my cave more.
Santiagos has a restaurant in a cave now?
Yea, I remember when I told her that I had guns, she totally freaked out that she was in the same house! Her dad was retired AF and he didn't even like guns from service, so she was never exposed to them. Then one day she asked to see them, and I pulled out my glock and my AR, she was interested/curious yet I could see the fear in her eyes. Once I started getting her more comfortable with them (by me CC'ing everywhere we went and especially on vacations), she wanted to hold one. Not long after that, she was at the range shooting more accurately than I could [LOL]
nice, bc....and good for her.
there was a thread here the other day....had a line in it:
100% of all home invasions happen at home.
classic, man.
i'm thinking it's about time for a little siesta,
btw....i found the whore power crystals in the last cave on the left side, level 22.
leave me a few of them....hoarders.
okay waxthis, i just took a picture to compare the paint sheens. The picture doesn't do the color justice, but you get the idea:
Attachment 32165
As you can tell, left side is wet paint and brighter, right side is dry paint, duller and flat.

I'm out again for a few days
bob dole is a verb?

Paint color...!s should we invite Ellen to join the boards ?
I wrote an angry rant about the body shop that worked on my car to my insurance agent. She replies back that she's forwarding it to the shop. Great.

I just wanted to say that I'd suggest against sending customers to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx in the future. I'm pretty dissatisfied with their service. The replacement front bumper does not align properly with the fenders on the car. When I went to have them take a look at it, they pointed out that the paint on the bumper has been scratched (I'm livid about that, by the way. But my own fault), so they refused to look at the bumper. I decided to investigate myself after getting home. I found that the car was not properly reassembled. The bolts holding down the driver side headlight were only finger tight, and I had to tighten them down. They reused damaged parts (including parts they billed Progressive for as new replacements) and forgot to replace some pieces.
The way the paint is damaged, I also suspect they did not include a flex agent in the paint, which means that as time goes on and pressure is put on the plastic bumper cover, that the paint will begin to spiderweb and crack as it is subjected to the stress.
I've included photos of the bumper fitment and the large chip in the paint for you to see. I also believe the hood is not properly aligned, but will have to take some measurements from an undamaged car first to compare.

Why am I so tired?
That sucks about the car Ridge! When the drivers door on my xterra needed replacing (my own stupid fault), the shop that did the work did not align the hinges well so there is a much larger gap at the back of the front door than on the other side of the truck. Also, the drivers door sticks out near the jamb and its very obvious. Yours looks much worse than mine though. Hope Progressive resolves it for you!
