Howdy fellers. Rough day today at Grandma's. She is really starting to fade away, and it was really tough to talk to her without crying. I love her a lot, but (whatever power of goodness) already knows that, and SHE knows that...and that's what matters. I don't think the time can be counted in months even....maybe weeks.

I know how you feel OBC. Mines getting worse and worse. The dementia is going faster than her health is failing and my allergies act up every time I talk to her... It sucks

Thanks, Monky and Wyome.......and mine as well to Monky's G'mom. It sure doesn't matter WHO it is in your family, it's always tough to deal with impending loss of a member of the family.

Whether it's a battle against a disease or simply a battle against time itself....all I can hope is anyone who is/has gone through it, is that the family deals with everything without arguing about stuff...and see to it that the waning months/days/hours are the best they can be for that person. I guess in my case, I should be truly happy that right now anyways, she knows and comprehends what is going on, and understands how I feel about her. She's been an awesome patriarch on my mothers side of the family, great lady who accomplished quite a bit of success with only a high school degree, and five children to feed on her own at the time.

Sometimes you just don't have the words to say to a person like that during a time like this. I really just need to go see her as often as I can before it's too late.

Not trying to be a downer or anything, guys, just talking about it I guess. It was good to see the family today.

Sorry to hear about that OBC. It's a tough time and it usually helps to talk about it. Good thoughts and prayers going your way.

Sorry about your granny OBC. Yes, we've all been through it, but everyone's situation is unique and special to those at the heart of it.

My wife has been through some terrible times with her grandmothers. The last one of them stroking out and passing away while we were home to bury my Dad in 2008.

Oh damn, Brutal...that would be rough indeed...I can't imagine what that would be like...and thank you.
