Yes I realize that the buyer has the option to back out of a contract after the inspection... however as written in the "additional provisions" of the contract that the buyers came up with for their offer:
"Buyer agrees to purchase home in `as is` condition, subject to only health or safety issues during inspection."
None of the issues they have come up with in their inspection are "health and safety issues".
