I looked into this years back and after much time reading and considering I decided it wasn't worth the effort as it appears as though most people who did put forth the time were rewarded with a big heaping bowl of nothing.
If someone can provide first-hand experience that runs counter to that opinion please post details. I'd love to be wrong.

But the current assessment is within $1,500 of my house listing, so it appears to be pretty accurate.

I think you are correct in that no one has posted a step by step. Just links to resources here and there. Seems like people have good success in fighting it though.
