As I said, at most a one year issue. There are some that would normally need to already have it in the ground to make harvest. Others will seed later and still can make a switch. If the price spike is high enough, we would see lesser value crops turned under to reseed wheat if the grow season permits. Capitalism is an amazing thing when it comes to solving shortages.

So farm subsidizing is not needed as farmers can set a price for starving countries and bypass the markets... Charge China 100x what they would charge domestically.

Russia is the world's biggest wheat exporter in front of the US. Ukraine is the 5th biggest. Russia and Ukraine together account for 29% of global wheat exports. Together, they more than double US wheat exports.

That's basically going to go away during this war.

Now, China is saying their winter wheat crop is the worst on record. Down 20%. China isn't a wheat exporter, but their reduced domestic production is going to increase demand on wheat exports from other countries.

A global wheat shortage is coming and it's going to cause major problems. Not good.

I for one eat MANY products made from wheat. Love them all. Wheat is my jam.

Fortunately, I have plenty of wheat. And the equipment and experience to use it to feed my family. Including turning it into some fine pizza. ;)

I'm more worried about how a shortage will affect the world. (affect? effect? whatever).

I?m folically challenged so a man bun is out of the question but do I have to take up crossfit?

Will my toes get cold wearing sandals year round?

And the big question?.

Do I buy a Tacoma or just jump right in to some kind of electric vehicle?

So, apparently another Russian general got shot by a sniper, making two down. In addition, it shows the utter poopfest that is the Russian army, because the unit's FSB officer didn't have any secure communications, so relayed the general's death by a local sim card (and the message was intercepted).

The Ukrainian's have a lot going on there. They have some serious tech (probably given to them by us) AND the ability to wage legitimate guerilla warfare.

Intercepting unsecured comms and lighting tanks up with Molotov cocktails. Little bit of everything and it's working.

Something people are forgetting is that the supply/demand issues are on political divides, not worldwide. Who will buy Russian oil at a discount...China. Who will buy Russian wheat? China. Timber? China. China. China is going to come out like a bandit. But it's not like the commodities are removed from the world or unsold. China will even be able to import Russian goods and export them if they so desire...

I read something today speculating the Russians have already lost damn near as many soldiers in 2 weeks as the US lost in 20 years in Iraq and Afghanistan. No way to know for sure, of course. Also mentioned this invasion/war isn't thought very highly of in the Russian military and Kremlin, the term "clusterfuck" was used.

Wonder how you say clusterfuck in Russian.....

In short, a shit ton of Russian tanks drive into a residential street. Ukraine lands artillery in front of them and they all stop and bunch up like crazy. Some more explosions, tanks looks panicked. They turn around an beat feet back the other way. Ukraine only got two of them out of the deal unfortunately. They should have been able to get a dozen.

What do you call the people who start an invasion with horrible and vulnerable logistics and continue it with tactics like these? It just happens I've been catching up on the end of the Revolutions podcast and am at the point of the 1905 Russian revolution ... Putin's mistakes here and deafness to his domestic populace dwarf Nicholas II's.

Russian troops are performing so bad that Russia is bringing reinforcements...from Syria. Russia is reporting that 16,000 syrians could be headed to Ukraine. Many news outlets reporting Africans heading to fight with Russia too.

Dirt dogs I though I isolated the video from removal, basically it said why when Crimea, Bosnia, Syria, why weren't people outraged, and few other wars/conflicts in that region.
Also said Ukraine had many civil wars, were people were slaughtered . I think it was Crimea that people were getting killed "civilians " Russian forces were protecting innocent people.
Talked about how Ukraine is every bit as corrupt as Russian Government . Ukraine has had big battles for the last 30 years and civil wars . Man if I thought I was going to loose all my links I would of written it down.

That's all I can recall but having a neighbor 15+ years ago who was a Ranger/Special Forces "spoke fluent Russian " He did comment that US always picked one side /Russia the other..once in a while they'd switch sides.
At the time he was in Kosovo Yugoslavia, and Serbians conflict Muslim Albanians. Theres been many many conflicts in that region. Why I'm wondering why Ukraine all of a sudden became 24/7 , plus Google 2 days ago started purging all descenting videos. Free Press Lol right I'm Bummed they took it down. Sorry if this is all over the place, I'm no expert. fragments of my mind.
