Thought about that. Those rafts don't go in no house. [rules][Coffee]

I read up a little on Boathouse Distillery, and apparently they get casks from the south then finish the bourbon here. I thought it reminded me a little of the likes of Elijah Craig and Evan Williams Single Barrel......wonder if it's a coinkidink.
These treatin' me well tonight... light... stanky...

Picked up a bottle, of this Longmont creation, and have to say it's not bad. Pretty good in fact. Sweet and mellow, with some smoke. I'd buy another bottle.

Trying Black Canyon tonight.
I'm not as classy as you guys... Bud Light and Fireball for me tonight.
PBR, as usual. Only the best. [Tooth]
I might sip a little Crown later.
LMAO!
The way to introduce yourself to whiskey is get something good like Templeton Rye or Buffalo Trace, and pour only 1 finger or so into a glass over about 2-3 ice cubes.
Taste just a sip at full strength, then let the ice melt a bit to take the edge off the whiskey. Then you'll just have the sweetness and you just sip it. After a while you get develop a taste for it. Just don't start with something too smokey like the above bottle. Also, I realized I'm drinking this with my whiskey rocks, so there is no watering down of the whiskey tonight!
A summer staple...a little early.

I decided to have a whiskey and cigar bar at our wedding, so I bought like $200 worth of whiskey and brought most of it back home with me. It was a crash course.
Update, had the Black Canyon with ice and it was much better that way.
French press coffee? [Dunno] It's 7 in the morning!
Cayman Jack Margarita last night for the wife. XX ambar for me.
Missouri's finest apple pie shine!!
I often do whiskey and cigars together, when I have them, but I think I agree with you.
Well I recently decided to save a few bucks and bought a bottle of the Buffalo Trace y'all have been talking about instead of my usual Maker's Mark.
Overall I'm happy with it. It's a damn sight better than JD (which I despise ... in fact for years I thought I disliked bourbon in general because of it) and its priced well, so since I'm too poor to drink Maker's at the rate I've been drinking lately it'll do.
On a side note I whipped up a bunch of mint infused simple syrup for Mint Juleps (have a couple mint plants growing on the patio) and we picked up an interesting relative to Spearmint called "Sweet Mint" which is as the name implies very much like a blend of Spearmint and Stevia so it's made my Mint Juleps even better. I also find myself snatching a leaf to chew on any time I'm in the back yard.
So Irving, is that Black Canyon sweet like a bourbon or dry like a scotch (I'm guessing its somewhat sweet being corn based)?
I couldn't tell you. I don't pay enough attention. However, without ice cubes to cut the edge, my first thought was that it was smoky like a scotch.
Love scotch straight up no ice or water.
Sippin on some Glenlivet 12 tonight. Neat.
Managed to get my hands on some yeungling last week. Better than I thought.

Enjoying my Stranahan's SnowFlake I picked up. Smoothest whiskey I've ever had.
Wife knows June 9th is a tough day for me every year, so I came home to this....

I'm a whiskey fan (although a newb), and she knows nothing about whiskey, but she thought I should try something new. Pretty good stuff!
^Mmmmm a well rounded dinner.
I'm on the fence about ice/water in whiskey. It does change the flavors but I like the burn.
Tried some of this last night. No nonsense bourbon that was pretty good. $20 a bottle didn't hurt either.

When I get home.
Couple of pitchers of Coors Light at Happy Hour for my last day at my job (until Monday when I start the new job at the same company). I very nearly paid for something.
New Belgium Abbey
Few coors lights, some kind if specialty pale ale I can't remember the name of and some jack/coke. It's bedtime though, I golf in 7 hours.
