Up to issue #113 or so. Then it started to feel like he was just pumping out issues for $$$ rather than art's sake. Rather, there are some comics (Saga, Adam + Ada, etc) that I gladly shell out the $0.99-2.99 for and wish there were more I could buy, but walking dead comics started to feel like the writer's punched time-cards.
EDIT: As for show vs. comic, the show is pretty good for accomplishing what the comic does, with understandable content control. The comic gets downright graphic and doesn't really pull many punches. It would be too awkward/uncomfortable for half the TV audience that actively watches the show. And half of the other half that remained to watch would still be grossed out lol. Also, major characters in the comic get killed off with great regularity.
