I can?t recall the price. I used to get it every now and then at the Cheeky Monk and I?ve bought it at either Total Beverage or Daveco. I think it was about $15 but I may be wrong.
I almost hate to ask, I'm not much of a drinker and certainly not after anything "high-end" because of the cost and really strong alcohol taste doesn't appeal to me - but does anybody here know anything about Tincup? Kinda interested in something to sip small amounts of and it was recommended to me as being pretty mellow, and not a "whiskey connosuier's" brand.
Guess I'm looking for a sissy whiskey to sip on, something that won't tear up my gut or head.
Tin Cup is a pretty good whiskey, but if you wouldn't sip Jack, then you won't like Tin Cup either. It's still 80 proof of whatever full blown whisky.
Honestly, the best I've ever had was a 12 year McCallan and that is probably pretty expensive.
I might try like a Canadian whiskey for what you're after.
Or you might try something like Leopold Bros. Rocky Mountain Peach Whiskey. It’s only 60 proof, made with Colorado peaches. A little syrupy, but covers the bite if you don’t like the hard stuff, and is nice to sip at a campfire.
Bird Dog is less sweet / syrupy, if that’s not your thing (the peach, haven’t tried the apple)
Speaking of apple that will mess you up, a recent bartender put some apple juice in a margarita. Didn’t know it, and had to ask what was different. Pretty tasty.
Better than when I ordered a whiskey and coke in Florida and got a Fireball and coke. It tasted like what 7th grade girl lip gloss smells like.
