Since Dillon is now carrying a bullet feeder, (even though it's "aftermarket") I figure I'd order one. Given Dillon's high bar, I expect to be happy with it!
O2
The Double Alpha are what I use.
Setting them up is easy.
Put a new motor in my big Dillon tumbler.
This is motor #3 for this tumbler. The last time I put a new motor in this one was March 2011.
Getting over 5 years of hard use out of this tumblers motor is a win in my book.
Stuffed 250 rounds of 6 BRX.
Going to do some more testing with a new load for my 223 practice rifle tomorrow too then off to the range.
Put together a 1050 toolhead to load 300 blackout and cleaned up the 1050. 300 blackout has grown into my favorite cartridge to shoot. Picked up 5k moly coated 220 for subs gonna load those this week
I loaded 10 rounds of 165gr .308 with TAC and 10 rounds of 168 gr with 4064 all in LC11 brass. Laid prone in the floor and shot them for groups at 100 yards out the door. The rifle likes the 4064 with 5 shots in one ragged hole. I decided to break out the Lapua brass Ive had sitting on the shelf for the last 4 years. I loaded 5 with the 4064. Four of the five shots were miss fires. There was a good dent in the primers, just not enough. I called my smith, first he said to set the bullets shallow and basically ram them into the lands. Fireform the brass to the rifle and they would be fine. He then asked the groups the rifle was shooting, and proceded to tell me to quit messing with it and just shoot the LC brass.
I converted all my Dillon 550 and 650 toolheads to locking. Tapped the hole where the retaining pin goes through the toolhead and inserted #4-40 Helicoil inserts. Replaced the pin with #4-40 x 1/2" SHCS. Now the toolhead stays tight up against the top of the press. I was getting seating depth variations on my 550 with precision ammo. I think this will fix it.
1 bucket of 223 down, 1 to go. Then back to 308 - 6.5 converting
^^^Thanks
I loaded 10 rounds of .308 using imr 4064. One ragged hole 5 shot groups at 100. I swapped over to imr 4895 at 42.5 gr with a 168. At 100, I was consistently getting one flier per 5 shot group. I numbered and loaded the same five cases five times, and the flier moved from case to case. Im a little puzzled about it, but Im thinking I just need to stick with the 4064. It would hit about half an inch to an inch outside the group in all directions. All rounds were individually loaded into the chamber, not from the mag.
quickly cranked out ~150 .38's and realized I have to go get a new .45 shell holder tomorrow which put my plans of working up a new load for my Kimber on hold.
LOL, was cleaning up and setting up my various new quick change tool heads for my 550 and discovered I did not get a .45 Colt conversion kit.
Dies? Check
Quick change kit? Check
Conversion kit? WTH!!!!!
Cleaned my room, sorted crap that I need and don't need. Now there is stuff for sale in the classifieds.
Got my 550 .45 colt conversion kit in, gonna set it all up and get my wet tumbler going today, hopefully
Got my Redding body die and bumped the shoulders back on 195 rounds of .308 AMAX from my first attempt at batch reloading a few years ago that ended up not chambering in my Tikka. Taught me the value of a case gauge, too.
Found an adjustable height work bench that I'm going to convert into my reloading bench. I like that I'll be able to stand/sit depending on what I'm doing.
Started loading for the Dasher! Got a likely load developed and loaded some fireforming rounds too. Hope it shoots :)
Decided to load some .308 to shoot a few rounds. Sprayed down some brass with lanolin to six. The second piece of brass is now stuck in the recapping die and it shattered the base plate on my 550. I thought the cases were very well lubed, even using my fingers to make sure it was on the neck. I guess I get to order a new shell plate and a stuck case remover kit.
Shoot the Dasher yet, Pedro? What bullet and powder?
Too much lube is as bad as none. You can use a drill sized for 1/4-20 tap to open primer pocket, take a 1.5 1/4-20 allen head and spacer to remove case.

Resized a few hundred 308 to 6.5
No, dammit. Remodeling our kitchen.
Your load is in the money. That was too hot for mine, but dang it shot great. ES for five rounds was exactly 2 f/s.
Sorted a partial bucket of COWW and SOWW, did not find much in the way of Fe or Zn weights. :)
LOL, I was using a pair of side cutters, if it nips easy it is good, if not it is steel or zinc. Stick on WW are either pure lead or steel.
there are a couple of YouTubes on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQlU3m-Nr5w
Setup the quick change kits for .357 and .44 mags yesterday and loaded a couple hundred rounds

Got the PID controller setup on my Lee pot, and it is sweet, keeps the temp in 4 degree range and I know what the temp drops down to when I add lead now and when it is ready to cast again, no guess work any more and less culls :)
Cast and sized a pile of .358 170gr Keith Style SWCs
Next is a pile of .430 Keith Style SWCs
