serious question......
What do you guys sew? Do you have projects, or is it just a side fun thing to do?
I sew clothes right now, but I have patterns for bags and toys that I'm looking forward to trying. And when it's craft far season, I've got tons of mittens, hats, scarves and the like ready to go.
It IS very fun, and there are a million possibilities with a decent machine.
We're going to be trying to sew leather, once we get our older machines spruced up.
Here is the project I mentioned with the denim and heavy duty plastic backing. I was able to go through triple layers of denim plus double layers of plastic when sewing this up using the jeans needle.

I made an old timey night cap to match the owl pants, but I can't get the photo to show up right this second. I'm making a pajama set and haven't attempted the tops yet.
I'd really like to learn how to repair clothes, specifically replacing pockets with holes in them on my pants/shorts, but repairs seems to be a whole different beast of its own.
I prefer chili with beans....
What is the purse with sand for?
That's actually pretty cool!
I I guess there are tons of possibilities out there such as soft carrying bags, tool bags, and all kinds of stuff. Good skill to have.
I sewed a length of rebar into an orange nylon strap and hang it on the back of my ladder. The rebar keeps the webbing from blowing around in the wind, as much. I'm go grab a picture.

Here is the ladder flag. It's not complex or impressive, but I do use it 24 hours a day and it holds up nicely. Nylon webbing is very easy to work with and you can make all kinds of cool stuff. I was considering making a soft ladder out of webbing actually. At some point, I'd like to make my own single point sling.

The black is a stretch band I was using to make a chest harness for a GoPro last year.
