Yeah, it turns out there are several different racing/driving clubs in the area, and one of them rents out the local airport once a month to do autocross and sanctioned racing on the runway. pretty cool. Lots of very proud Corvette owners in the area. Usually a Miata can beat them in autocross and it's hilarious.Quote:

For off grid details and tracking, I'd recommend a paid product that can use topo maps, forest service maps, etc. . I use Back Country Navigator GPS on my phone for hunting. Steep learning curve, but it works great. After my handheld Garmin crapped out, I gave it a try instead of spending coin on another dedicated GPS I was going to use just a few times a year. Since I use a phone with a removable battery, I always kept a charged spare in my kit if needed.
