Wow, A chevy with no ground clearance, and a Dodge with a stack.
Whooda thunk it?
I would say 13 years and still going strong, but it has given me some (self inflicted?) grief recently.
cracked exhaust manf, turbo exhaust housing.
Trans 2-1-2-1 low speed/throttle shuttle shift issue that I'm hoping replacing a few easy access trans parts will cure.
It mostly only tows heavy or runs fast and hard on the big road and I had a tuner box on it for 12 years.
last year I picked up a 2006 Mega with the 5.9 manual transmission. It was an older mans truck who bought it to tow a camper. He had all service records and such, and it have 53,000 miles on the clock. I am leaving it almost stock, keeping it for long term reliability. It has a CAI, 2nd Gen intake manifold, Edge mileage max tuner. I plan on gutting the cat or replacing the muffler for a little more noise out the back, and I would like to take out the 4.10 rear and put in 3.73's.... I don't need the full blown towing gears.
Keep an eye on that factory exhaust manifold. Just saying... Seems to be a fairly common thing if it runs even a little over factory temps. They move around, warp and crack, break off the bolts.
I got a BD 2-piece and had someone else do it (referal from here) after breaking one bolt off. One was already sheared, both at #1. He broke one at #6, but got them all out with lots of PB and heat.
