I put the edge of a 1/2" endplate of a 535lb structural beam down on my right middle finger on Wednesday. I honestly thought I wasn't going to have a full finger when they lifted it up. Believe it or not I'm using it to type right now... a little less skin on it and a helluva blood blister, but it's pretty much good to go.
My boss's only response was to yell from across the room "Was it your trigger finger?"
I am glad you are doing better.[Flower]
Glad it is healing.
It it is pretty easy to get attached to pain meds, with my back problems I would go heavy some days on my Vicodin and man it puts you in such a fog. I actually remember thinking how easy it would be to become addicted to it.
Are you on antibiotics? If so which one?
They have me in Kexflex 500mg x 4 a day for 10 days. I'm almost done with those. Don't see myself getting addicted to those oxy, not really an addictive person.
They are pretty week IMHO and frankly they only marginally help with pain. I think the idea must be to make you sleepy so you forget about the pain.
I'm a lightweight when it comes to medication. And oxy will take all my troubles away. Incredible. Needless to say I avoid them like the plague.
I think the only drug I could become addicted to would be Propofol/Diprivan. It has to be the best sleep I have had since I was an infant.
100 proof anything seems to be my limit on pain killers. Highly effective but major long term addiction issues.
Finger looks real good! I hated being on pain meds but it was the only way to sleep. You're lucky about the clean up job.... The surgeon left a little piece of nail bed on mine.... It hasn't grown but could possibly cause problems in the future....
Worst pain I ever felt was removing the gauze post ER and prior to surgery... The blood had dried onto nerve endings....
