I sat on my Mustang for 7 years before I started driving it and during the 8th year it was on the tire 6 banger that it came with. After a while I put a v8 in it and I just wondered what I was waiting for all that time. Now that was my plan for my car and it worked out great for me. Yours is different but your not getting any younger and saying you will get to it later my sound like a plan now but its not. Good luck with your project they are a lot of fun and a good way to spend money.

Jeeps should be reliable as hell ... that original 4 should outlast you and me both combined. Which motor is in it? Is it the Hurricane?

I still don't understand the point of V8s in jeeps unless you're hill climbing or mud drag racing, otherwise its a good way to end up with your ass pointing in the wrong direction and things you can't fix gettin' broke :p

Well, a Mustang's a different story, more hp there would definitely be a good thing. My old Willys was meant to putt and chug, so putt and chug it shall be. It was Dad's old hunting Jeep and he rarely used it, it always ran good though. Only real "upgrades" I'm doing are far better brakes, 12v electrics, electronic ignition, a later D30 front axle and later type steering. "Maybe" a better carb if the old one gives me grief. Oh, and a heater! [Tooth] But fast ain't in the plans.

Yep, Hurricane. And the only thing I want to break when I'm on the trails with it is the seal on a cold beer at the campsite!

That is a respectable and fun sounding plan. I once new a guy who thought jeeps were useless since they didn't come with AC but now I know they didn't even have heaters for time. That is a new one for sure.

Those Metropolitan are cute. and have a bit of a cult following here in Colorado. My girls BFF bought one for $200 off the side of the road drove it home and her and her husband have been restoring it ever since. She said it has everything but the key sticking out of the trunk.
