Just joined On Friday and no discount. So if ya run a deal soon , that would be a total bummer. Lol.
Checked out Blue Core this morning. Took the .308 and AR to the Rifle Range. Nice place, everyone treated me well and the range is very nice. Good selection of firearms in the retail shop. Ranges were pretty busy at opening time, 8-10 people in line and others arriving every few moments. Glad to see they are busy.
I thought it was $21 for the rifle range, but I guess it's $30. O'well, was worth it for what I needed to do. I like the target carriers for the rifle range, last time I was there you had to ask someone to get your target. (long ago!)
Will recommend to others.
I am planning a trip to BC this morning to sight in a rifle. Anybody going over there this morning?
Report: Pistol range was full after 15 min. of being open. Shot in rifle range by myself for about 1/2 hour before it filled up in about 5 min. Got every thing done I needed. Below is my 100 yd. zero.

So Is their rifle range is operational now? It looks promising on their facebook page.
I was there Saturday morning, rifle range had just reopened. Nice an ventilated.
I saw an AD for these guys while I was taking a piss at a bar
Is the rifle range now open?
I was in there Friday, 6 Jul and the setup is nice. Both ranges were clean, but there was a line on the rifle range that was running about 20 minutes. They will check your ammo for steel core, so no SS109.
Went in there this morning and great place! Bought some gloves and used the pistol and rifle ranges. Really clean and the staff were all great, lot of them there, all saying "Hello! or Did you have fun?" I like being a customer and get recognized. Makes me want to go back!
I'm thinking of heading down after work to try out my new SG3 trigger I got today at Bowers. Anybody going to be there? It's ladies night.[Muaha]
Ask for Kris and say hello when you come in (that's me by the way) I'm one of the managers down there.
Also please do not hesitate to let me know if you have a bad experience at all, (or a great experience, we like hearing about those better) I will make sure it is taken care of. We are very serious when we say we want to have the best shooting facility available for everyone!
Will do. I'm sure we have met before.
I will say, both my father and I, who are members and shoot both rifles and pistols, we're quite less than pleased that during your LONG period of rifle range downtime gave us only the options of having no rifle range, or suspending our entire membership while it was down. We tried asking for a 50% extension based on downtime, so if rifle was down for 4 months you would add 2 months to our membership. We felt this was more than fair, since the rifle range is double the cost of pistol, so during those 4 months we were losing WELL more than half the value of our membership.
The response we got back was to the effect that your owners didn't care, and had enough members, and were "not raising rates yet to make up for it". In fact, we were specifically told that you were still getting renewals, so you didn't care. I can say that a place I liked a bunch at first lost a bunch of my favor with that attitude.
We weren't sold the memberships under the stipulation that we would have no rifle range for a full third of our membership. And feel quite cheated by it.
Honestly, I hope someone else comes in and gives some competition. I feel that being the only game in town, you don't have to fight to be the best and can be complacent. I like your facility, but feel like mud with how that went down.
The rifle range going down was not really a "planned" event, and I do apologize for that. It also took a lot longer than we could have anticipated due to a few hang ups.. I am not sure who you talked with about the membership extension, and I am sorry you felt like you were not appreciated. I can assure you that is not the case at all, and if the owners heard this (I will make sure they do by the way) they would definitely not be happy with it. We appreciate all of our members, and customers for that matter.
I do know there was a lot of deliberation on how to handle the rifle range being down, and unfortunately it sounds like you may have gotten info when there wasn't really a decision made yet on what to do.
I will make sure Sean and Eric get this feedback though, and although it's not my favorite feedback to hear, it is definitely an opportunity for us to improve! Thank you for saying something, we can't try to fix things if we do not know there is something wrong!
I can provide the 6+ email chain on the subject with your general contact email addy. Here in this tread?
P.S. if it is sent to your general listed contact email, it should be something you know is wrong. So I'm not sure what your last statement is about??? That's why we emailed you there, so you could fix it. Someone knew it was wrong. Was it a rogue employee, or a drastic shift in policy/attitude since then?
Who are the guys that show up to the IDPA match in Dumont to advertise (by wearing their hats)? I had some of them in my group this month.
Saw some of them around too. Wasn't sure if it was employees, or people wearing the articles they sell at the range. ?? Hadn't seen any of them around the BluCore range before, so I assumed the latter, but I dunno.
I asked and they said that they are employees (the guy I was talking to said he worked there part time) and that they try to get a bigger group to go every time to help get the name out. They were good shots.
I was out there this month but sans any BluCore gear. The other guys were likely Mike and Sean, they started as members and then have come on board to help run our competition night shoots.
Jayock if you would forward that email string to me at kris(dot)v(at)blucoreshootingcenter(dot)com I would appreciate it.
Will do. Ill put them together, have them to you tomorrow.
What stage did you start on Kris?
I was in the squad that started on stage 1.
Ahhh. I started on stage 3.
I've being felling the same way. My membership just expired on 8/8/12 and I don't know if after paying for a full services membership last time and not having full service for I think half that membership I don't know if I want to re-up. The rifle range before the shutdown was in bad shape. If you went there when it was raining, which is why you go to an indoor range, half the lanes didn't work. I just don't know what to do now, I'm looking into other options.
After reading back through the emails, it appears that Eric, one of the owners was the one that responded to our last inquiry.
The gist of it was that they were held up by permits, and blaming Lakewood. Ok, I believe that, but why not make sure the permits are acquired before shutting down and starting renovations? The range was down just over 5 months. Each time a schedule was promised "in the next couple of weeks" and that continued for months.
His email continued to include "These are the only 2 options. They are both fair and equitable." and "Most of the original members that signed up w/ us last April have already renewed this year". He denies our request, saying "We are not prepared to extend memberships for the period of time that the rifle range is closed." Continuing "Because we now have so many members, when we re-open the rifle range, we'll be doing a membership hike".
I think this email response disappointed me most of all. Since ownership is already aware of this, and was the responding employee, I'm going to assume that pleading with one of the managers will not yield fruitful results.
Send it to me, I can be a really squeaky wheel when I want to be.
