Damn...glad you're ok
Went to the junkyard today (West Auto Parts in Commerce City). Lucked out and found the part I needed pretty quick (a power antenna). I bring it up to the counter and the guy says, "I can do $25." I said, "This is a Rock Auto replacement, and that's what they go for brand new." He just shrugged and asked me to put it back in the car I got it from. What the fuck is the point of going to a pick and pull if they are going to charge you the same price as brand new parts? Now I have to call around and see what people will charge me before I waste any more time.
This is it from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Metra-44-PW22...70_&dpSrc=srch
Maybe $25 is an okay deal, but it sure doesn't feel like it, can't even tell if it worked.
I've had *some* success in junkyards with odd things, but yeah they no longer a great deal as far as I can tell. The exception of course being things that are hard to get or otherwise impossible.

I've gotten a few small things at junkyards in the past for great prices, even ones that were already pulled for me. Just not yesterday I guess.
That's a bummer Irving, and I would add that the trouble you went through was a decent enough pain in the ass.....I'd also say that even if they sold it to you for half the price, you still spent much of your time AND it's still used shit when you walk out the door too.
If I'm going to replace something on a car I'm keeping and driving daily, I'll buy factory stuff if I can (especially electronics), or at least new replacement parts aftermarket.
