Crap, while having coffee with the Meadowlarks this morning, I realized, I am going to have to mow the lawn again this season.
I read you need to approach them gently like you would a honey badger. Then slooooowly reach out with 1 not both hands, to show them you're not a predator. They get a little antsy but will calm down once you touch them.
If you manage to get a picture of you petting one. The state gives you a Bienvenidos Florida Card along with a free meal at any participating Golden Corral.
The interesting thing is, Jimmy Carter had experience with the Atomic Energy Commission and Nuclear Subs:
16 OCT 1952 - 08 OCT 1953 -- Duty with US Atomic Energy Commission (Division of Reactor Development, Schenectady Operations Office) From 3 NOV 1952 to 1 MAR 1953 he served on temporary duty with Naval Reactors Branch, US Atomic Energy Commission, Washington, D.C. "assisting in the design and development of nuclear propulsion plants for naval vessels." From 1 MAR 1953 to 8 OCT 1953 he was under instruction to become an engineering officer for a nuclear power plant. He also assisted in setting up on-the-job training for the enlisted men being instructed in nuclear propulsion for the USS Seawolf (SSN575).
This thing is ridiculous. I'll let you know if I throw up from this an hour from now. It's a paper work day, so that means I go straight from coffee to beer as I catch up on the office stuff.

That thing is big enough to give you stogie envy.
