Are you making a schematic as you go for future trouble shooting?
Yes, and everything is getting labeled as well. Since I don't really want to spend $500 for 13 different colors, some circuits will be duplicate colors. It doesn't help I'm putting so many lights on it. Ha.
Are you planning on all LED lights so you don't need like six auxiliary batteries? I've been meaning to redo the labeling in my breaker panel, but it's one of those things that is so easy to just keep putting off. Good on you for labeling everything.
Yes, all the aux lighting is LED and the switches are rated at 20 amps each so instead of having to relay eight separate loads, I'll probably dual relay four switches each and let the switch manage the load which will be pretty insignificant anyways.
sucks a little more when you're doing it right.
And that is what I was getting to about wiring in general. All of it is kind of a pain in the ass to begin with, but if you take the time to properly route, grommet, support, crimp, seal, foresight with extra, and seal some more....etc, etc.
I bet you can fit a lot of solar panels on that flat bed...
I am interested in adding a couple of group 31 batteries paralleled in with the 65 under the hood. Extra battery power is never a bad idea, but I did have to delete the second alternator in order to get this engine to fit into this chassis. If I do that, it would be wise to get a higher output alternator.
It's really important to have EMS crews keeping their cell phones charged.
I wanted to add that I'll piggy back load wires in light groups, but every light will have an individual ground. I did take the time to ground and re-ground everything from the body, frame, engine and bed.
