The B-29 was giving rides too, all booked up, $400.00 to $1400.00 per seat.
We spent $99.00 for seats on the Beech, you could spend $200.00 and sit in the co-pilots seat, our flight had a 14yr old with 40hrs flying time as co-pilot. Total of 6 people on board.

We skydived out of a Beech D-18 Twin once back in 1980. Was a cool jump, but we all had to crowd forward so the anemic old toad could get airborne.

On this date in 1963, Lockheed test pilot Tony LeVier, took a TF-104 from California to Maryland (with fuel stops) in the company's aircraft with 18 yr old Daughter, and co-pilot, Tonianne.
She was able to fly the plane at Mach 2, I doubt this kind of thing could happen today. Good for her!!
