I'm facing similar issues but in a different way, and there's a lot of back story to it. Been working at the same shop for 32 years, but it was bought from the private owner in '16 by a government corporate entity. Stuffs gotten really different for us over these last couple years.
Suffice to say, some things aren't going right with their perceived ideas of leadership in the office or out in the shop where the work gets done. I have the experience and the hearts there, but the bullshitter got the nod. Hey, your mistake I figure, you'll either straighten it out....or three of us will probably leave within a year. You're fucked now, sure you could hire some swinging dick mechanics in, but there is so much more to what we do....if you're able to get one fucking dude that can wrench AND fab shit like the rest of us....you'll be lucky.
Bullshitter running the shop side?....good luck keeping anyone there. Office side as top dog who doesn't know shit about vehicles?...good luck with that too.
Had I been considered for, or even been asked my opinion about the shop side with everything I've seen and been part of in this specialized service for over three decades...I'd have a different outlook about it. The only thing keeping me here now is ailing elderlies.....it could also have been that AND a promotion that's kind of deserved imo.
