15 years ago when I redid all the doors and millwork, I put on some faux oak stair end caps and did carpet up the center and regret that. The upstairs hall is laminate and the downstairs oak has been replaced so now looking at full oak treads to redo the stairs.
What does everyone put on them to prevent ass over teakettle syndrome when wearing socks?
We have full oak treads to match the 3/4" Oak hardwood upstairs. Don't have anything on them to add grip, and thus far have only had a single instance of ass over tea kettle. (Unfortunately, it was my wife, and she had one hell of a bruise and such).
When I have some time, I'm going to refinish them, and I saw an idea that includes some light sand being added to add traction that doesn't really show up. I haven't tested it yet, but will before I do the stairs.
