I am still digesting everything else you wrote. We're going to disagree on two points which I have highlighted.

1. Receiving free stuff is precisely why they are here. My only and limited experience is with Central/South Americans and they aren't here to assimilate into the American culture. They are here to change America from a working culture to an entitlement culture. Both major political parties are complicit in this change.

2. Instead of running away to a free country they should stay in their own country and overthrow their oppressor. But that would take work and sacrifice, neither of which appeals to these people, especially when the American government aids and abets illegal immigration with free education and all the rest.

Whatever their reasons for coming here (bootstrap ingenuity and work ethic or welfare leech, it really doesn't matter) I don't really blame the immigrants for escaping Mexico to come here. I would do the same thing if my family was living in a narco-war zone. My problem is the companies and gov't programs that keep enticing them to do so, and giving them incentives to sponge off of the rest of us while here.

P.S. I also think that any gang affiliation whatsoever, should be grounds for immediate deportation of the person in question, and their entire immediate family. Fair or not, the entire family should bear the responsibility of NOT polluting our country any further with the filth they've brought with them from Mexico.

As to Freedom.

There are 6.5 billion persons on this planet and each one is endowed by their creator with the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

If they have the misfortune of being born under a government that does not uphold these rights then they have some solutions:
1. Rise up and overthrow their oppressor.
2. Move to a different country...in the legal fashion required by the laws of the country they want to move to.
3. Put up with the oppression
4. Join the oppressors

The solution of moving to a better country by violating the destination countries laws removes the rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness from the law breaker.

No illegal alien present in the United States should enjoy any rights whatsoever. They are criminals first and foremost and have forfeited their rights, there must be consequences for actions and bad actions should lead to detrimental consequences. To grant them immunity from prosecution for entering the country illegally spits in the face of every person who wants to and has come here legally.

It's simple. Illegal immigration is wrong. Rewarding it in ANY manifestation is doubly wrong. Our American history, culture and children deserve better.

Hang in there. Still not bad for average post graduate degree.
Most I've seen was about 220k.
It is like having another mortgage....

My former co-worker was about mid 50s. His average tuition was about $900/semester back then.

I'm 51 and attended state schools. My undergrad costs ranged from $235 a quarter to $335 a quarter, and grad school was $1200 a quarter in the early 90s.
